Competitive Team
It is our primary goal to use gymnastics training to motivate young people to succeed in life and in sports. Secondary to this is our commitment to provide talented young athletes with the means to begin their journey to becoming successful competitive gymnasts.
As we do in all of our classes, we will teach and refine basic gymnastics skills. As a part of our competitive program your child will participate in the USAG sanctioned TOPs (Talent Opportunity Program). This includes more advanced strength, flexibility and conditioning training. In addition (the second goal of), our program will teach developmental skills and drills to ease in the learning of advanced skills in the gymnast's future. These important developmental skills will be taught as "fun challenges" presented as parts of difficult skills broken down to make them easier to learn on their own later. It has been shown that children who are introduced to advanced skills at an early age are more likely to progress to their full potential as competitive gymnasts.
Our enthusiastic staff is ready to share their love of the sport with your child, teaching them good character traits for life. We advocate practices and a system where each day is enjoyable and productive in improving a gymnast’s life. Emphasis is placed on providing a safe and exciting learning environment by our caring athlete friendly coaches. Our coaching staff strives to create a safe, challenging, and rewarding environment.
The Victory Competitive Team program, under the direction of Head Coach Larry Anhorn begins with our Hotshot and Devo programs. Admittance to these classes is by invitation only and is determined by a child's individual gymnastics aptitudes and work ethic. These classes progress to Pre-Team where children will continue to train and master new gymnastics skills while learning the USAG level 4 competitive routines.
Once you are proficient at these routines; you will have the opportunity to become a member of our Competitive Team progressing through Level 10 to Elite competing with other gymnasts at Local qualifying, Sectional and State, Regional and National/International competitions.
Our team program follows the levels and guidelines set by USA Gymnastics, the governing body of our sport.
